TOPIC: Erythea Scenario
Re: Erythea Scenario 11 years, 10 months ago #907
Gekko,
I've updated the download section and moved Midkemia from the maps to the scenarios section. I understand not all players like to start with everything owned. But it makes for a nice change for those that want to try something different. Especially since you also get some high level heroes as well. Another scenario with mostly custom stuff is Divine Right. Currently it's there but it links to Myth because I am finishing up some edits that the original author never got to finish. Eventually I will post it again and if you are in a hurry for it I'll try and post it sooner. Like Myth it has custom spells, armies, items, heroes etc. I don't use 'spy on enemies'. It definitely cheapens things. The event log only shows major events, not everything like spy on enemies does. The easiest way to avoid allied victory is to go into the options screen and turn off diplomacy. Then all sides start at war and can never be at peace. However if you want some diplomacy just avoid being allied with someone and then you can't get an allied victory (not peace, but actual alliance). The Illuria at Wizards Isle exists because it was for a PBEM game I was part of. It's just the basic Illuria scenario here that has K4/Stormheim added to it for the PBEM game as part of an effort to update it. I don't recall if the one here is the same as what's there or not. For game balance the Sirian capitol should be moved from it's Warlords I spot to the city just west of the southern most bridge on the river. Then the Sirians can go across the bridge to the lower right cities more easily and challenge Elvallie for the central plains cities. I haven't tried Erythea so I don't know how well done it was. DLR maps and War2 maps aren't the same scale and DLR units move a lot further than War2 units so making a faithful version is almost impossible unless you want to create all custom armies/units/heroes to emulate War2. The Myth custom rules (Divine Right has one too) can be used for sure. Overall those rules serve to weaken heroes so there are fewer super hero stacks. It also tends to give out a bit less gold but you get benefits like medals on mercs. There is nothing wrong with using it on any of the scenarios for added challenge or something different. The changes definitely aren't specific to Myth. KGB |
