First off I'd like to introduce myself.

My name is Grega, I'm from a little country in the heart of Europe, called Slovenia (link added for your conveniance ).

I'm 28 and an avid videogamer. I work in a casino and try to do some university while at it .

I've played Warlords since it's original on the PC (unlike some oldschoolers which did it on amiga) and since then I've been in love with the game. Personally, the 4th one was a major dissapointment, I always felt like they made a step back from the colorfulness and richness of choice (I especially missed faction editor) and the simplicity of the 3rd.

But being also an avid online player, I am looking for the next step in challenge, some live opponents. The AI just doesn't cut for me as I already know the outcome in advance. The only time the AI managed to do some pressure on me, was while playing the first mission in the Tessalia campaign, yet we all know how predictable and boring the AI is...

So here it is. I'd like to get in touch with some of you, so that I can start playing online as soon as possible! I'm not into PBEM, since I find it too slow, so a few turn of live paced game would be great.

Hope you liked my intro and not overly mind that I put it into the Online games section, since basicly it's meant to be an add for me to get into online games asap.

The first thing to do is make sure you have downloaded and installed the Stormheim units and K-heroes = X-heroes. Those are pretty much the standard these days for online and PBEM play.

The nest thing is to download the BattleHQ client and install it. There is a room in BattleHQ for the Warlords series of games. That's where the remaining online players meet to arrange games.

Most online games these days are played on the weekends (Friday-Sunday).

Hello Grega, i'd like to play online (but i havent do it before so maybe i will not provide much challenge).


i've tried to install Battle HQ but i couldnt get it working. it only spams error messages.

if you like online play against humans get over to warbarons.com and play while its still in beta 3 which is awesome. they are trying some crazy things with their next beta but beta 3 is a beautiful well executed hybrid of WarII & War3/DLR. Its the most playable online version of warlords ive ever seen. If B4 is a disaster I may be over here trying to learn DLR!

Except that Grega stated that he specifically doesn't want to do PBEM but rather the pure online DLR. Warbarons only offers multi-player PBEM.

Well there you go KGB. Good catch, I didn't see that. My apologies Grega. Not to thread hijack but I do have some real concerns about the new beta. I wish they would keep B3 available as an option.

I know it's a bit of a really late reply, but I'd like to thank you for your replies. As it turns out, it's as I feared. Not many people play this awesome game anymore and no company wants to take the flag and put out a new game that'd create a new fan base.

You are right that not many play anymore. At least not online. There are a few more PBEM players.

A couple of players who do play online currently are busy with life and not able to play much.

If you are still looking for opponents, I can play on weekends and am located in EST zone (Florida). We can arrange a time to meet to play.

Regarding your offer, sadly that can't work for me, since I usually work weekends late into the night (I work in a casino). My time is GMT+1, so there's an additional limitation with whom can I play.

On an unrelated note, the link to the Divine Right scenario seems to be down, or wrongly scripted. I wanted to try it out and couldn't download it.

Don't feel too bad. The online game takes a while to master and while I don't know ToadKillerDog, CrazyHorse is a good player so beating him would have been virtually impossible.

On the other hand, I hope you enjoyed it enough to play some more. Despite your Casino job, we might still manage to play on weekends. There is a 6 hour difference (GMT-5) assuming your country uses Daylight Savings Time. If you work until say 5:00 AM that's only 11 PM here. On weekends I'd definitely still be up and online if you aren't too tired to play

Divine Right is indeed currently down. I'm still pulling it all together (Taking my time). It's only 1 map, but 11 sides. Since only 8 can play at once the scenario is really 2 scenarios with half the sides on each map and depending on the sides you want to use, you need to create a 3rd scenario and add the sides manually (not hard, but you at least need to be familiar with the editor). There are a lot of individual heroes/spells/items/units to sort through too. I'll see if I can finish this weekend for you.
