Hi guys, glad the VM I put together is proving useful to people. I have no problem with the Zip file being hosted at tihlde.org by Asgeir.

I never had any issues with the RAM, mine is set at 96MB with 16MB video (which I think is the default in my VM).

Aznagroth - are the issues you are getting with my VM or another one?

The crash when viewing the event log is a common bug that seems to have emerged over the last few years along with more custom scenarios like Divine Right and Myth. Whether these custom scenarios cause the problem is not clear. At one point I wondered whether it was caused by particular player's installs of W3 and I was hoping it would be possible to find out by playing a game with all players using my VM, if there were no crashes then it might explain something. To be honest, I quite like it when a game gets the 'corrupt event log' bug because I can not worry about checking it (which I tend to forget to do anyway!)

The VM is helpful indeed

I had problems with resize/fullscreen of the VM window and increasing ram/video memory seems to boost the performance a bit. Din't test much tho.

I installed VM, then installed winXP on it. I was unable to create a folder that I could find on my host so I resorted to bugging you about getting that prebuildt version. I just ran that file after download and suddenly I was able to play warlords <3

I don't remember doing any import of any files like Asgeir is stating. I guess I'll have to look into that. I'm running the game in the resolution it has as default, which means there are huge black borders on my screen

I guess that is because I don't know how to make it go to fullscreen properly. When I tried that some went offscreen so I was unable to see what was going on.

I avoid the bug with files not transfering properly by closing down warlords, transfer them and then restart the game. The bug happens sometimes when the game is closed, but it's really rare. I don't use the event viewer that much, but like in my last game vs Asgeir it would have been good to know that he had horn of stone a few rounds before.... Need more tramplers!

I'm glad to report a steady stream of requests for the VM and 100% of the people who have replied have found it works for them and allows them to get back into Warlords.

I've copied across my darklords to and fro many computers, hacked, edited, flung around everything inside I'm surprised I can get it to run even somewhat, but an early casualty was that my game crashed whenever listing campaigns or scenarios :/
Random & presaved games were fine, and I had a few campaigns saved at early chapter 1 but I'm really looking forward to being able to play the downloads here at long last.

The download was simple and easy to get running. Still looking at getting the files shared, thats next task

I like having it running in a window too, looks like can finally multitask while NPCs have their extended turns.
