This is not true.
I tried to install Win98 on WirtualBox and it works. But i failed to setup internet connection.
Then I tried to install WinME and succeed. It works great. And it is possible to play ROH on WinMe too.

The only tricky place during the installation - installing video drivers.

Sorry for those people who PM'ed me and got no reply, I was very busy and also 4shared deleted the file I had uploaded because I didn't log in frequently enough (grr) anyway, people kept asking me so I have just put up a page of help for my VM here:

error performing inpage operation

I get a lot of that error when transferig pbem from host to vm. Anyone else having the same problem? It seems to me like zipped files are better for this, but still they give this error now and then. I now have a file I can'¨t get properly over to my vm.

I've never seen that in my VM, sorry!

for now I found something that seems to work:

I have to quit warlords every time I transfer files to or from different folders.

I have another problem too which I think is unrelated but I guess I'll post it here since it might have something to do with the install of dlr on a vm.

When I try to check the eventlog in-game the game crashes to desktop. Is there a file that is corrupt or something that I would be able to replace without reinstalling the whole thing? I don't know if I'll actually be able to install it again either. I don't feel totally comfortable in the vm environment yet.

I am able to host the VM build at the following adress:

No.
You only need to install virtual box and this file, and you are ready to play!

Short summary of the installation:
1. Install VirtualBox (virtualbox.org)
2. Download Batz' "Warlords.zip" and unpack it to Warlords.ova
3. Start VirtualBox, choose "File>Import Appliance..." and choose Warlords.ova
4. Start "W2k2" from VirtualBox, and you are ready to play!

All credits to Batz for this solution, and refer to his guides for details and instructions on how to transfer files to the folders inside VirtualBox OS. Also, thanks to Aznagroth for help and sending me links.

I suggest setting at least 32mb video memory and 256mb ram (W2k2 settings). Default is 16/64.
