Do you know if it's possible to edit the propensity of leaders spawning in DLR? I'd like to have more of them for me and the AI.

Jambo,
Copy the 'default.rul' file in your DLR directory to a new name like Jambo.rul Edit this file and in the heroes section you want to change: NextHeroCost - Cheaper = more heroes faster NextHeroChance - Higher number is more base chance per turn of a hero MaxHeroesPerSide - If you want to have more than 5 heroes per side Then in your DLR shortcut after the -wincursor add -rules=Jambo.rul. If you've done it correctly then in the Main menu you'll see some red text telling you that the default rules have been edited along with instructions on how to view the changes. KGB |

Do you know if it's possible to influence the terrain in the random map generator? For instance to include more Marsh and Ice? As it stands Undead have a pretty useless bonus in +1 in Marsh. |

Ice/Desert do not come on random maps. You'll need to load scenario maps (including ones on this site) or create your own if you want Ice/Desert terrain.
There is no menu option to increase the amount of swamp like you can for rivers/forest/mountains/hills etc. So again nothing can be done other than loading scenario maps. You'll find Swamps are especially hard terrain because there is no swamp move bonus so even undead pay 5 moves there. KGB |

Ah, that's what I feared would be the case. Bit of shame. Maybe there's scope to change all those creatures who have bonuses which don't impact on randomly generated maps into something that does! Like perhaps adding a hills bonus?

I know undead beasts get an ice bonus, but a hill/ice bonus would definitely make sense for Wights and perhaps some other undead units as well. |
