I usually turn them on if I decide to have mercenaries at all. That way you can be lucky and get units when you are in a pinch. Like every 8 round to quote KGB

Up to you whether you turn off that option. Aznagroth doesn't obviously. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. Depends on what I can get with my 35 points in terms of better allies or more mana or better regulars etc. Typically if I don't have a hero who can get me to +5 chaos/fear with a spell or with 1 ab buys, then I definitely want a Red/Green dragon and thus use my 35 points on that instead of extra merc offers. I'm necroing this thread because I can't find the answers to my question on google and this seems like a thread related to what I want to know.
I know I have seen it before, but I think it must be deep down in a forumthread somewhere on one of the old large forums. When doing quests. What is the percentage for slot1,2 or 3 mercenaries when chosing easy, average or hard rewards? |

When doing quests. What is the percentage for slot1,2 or 3 mercenaries when chosing easy, average or hard rewards? Easy: Slot 1 100% Medium: Slot 1-3 33% Hard: Slot 2, 33%, slot 3 66% As I still try to learn all the rules I have to ask: Does that mean I always get a slot 1 mercenary unit if I complete an easy quest? By the way, what is the difference / importance of the number of slots? (e.g. regular slot 1 is more expensive thatn slot 8, because..?) Best regards, skeletor |

Yes, you always get slot 1 mercenaries if you select a mercenary reward for an easy quest (there are other rewards you can select). Regular slot 1 is more expensive than slot 8 so that player sets don't consist of just purely 4-5 turn units. Otherwise it doesn't matter. It obviously matters much more for mercs/allies because of the quest rewards. KGB |

Medium could maybe need some investigation to make sure. I would suggest hard gives something like slot 1 10% slot 2 20% and slot 3 70%. It is just a guess. slot 1 as reward for hard quest is at least possible. |
