TOPIC: Missing Reign of Heroes scenario introductions
Missing Reign of Heroes scenario introductions 2 years, 6 months ago #3802
Hey KGB & Co,
I've made a little discovery tinkering with Reign of Heroes today. The original twelve Etheria stand-alone scenarios, as well as the five bonus scenarios that could be downloaded off the old Warlords 3 website, all had text introductions that are missing from Darklords Rising. I've compiled them into an easy to install package, fixed spelling mistakes, etc. It's nothing earth-shaking, but there's some nice early background lore for Etheria in there. www.dropbox.com/s/pw8t14nysuztamf/Warlor...io%20intros.zip?dl=0 |

Thanks for the info.
I haven't booted ROH since 1998 when DLR was released so I've totally forgotten everything about ROH. KGB |

DWiz,
Great to hear from you! Been a LONG time. It's been a while since I played PBEM too (I think my last game was with you). What I remember is you have to right click on the DLR icon and then set the compatibility mode. I believe you set it to Win 98. I think the game creator has to be running that way when they create the game too so try setting it, then create a game and see if you can load it successfully. When playing online, you have to turn that compatibility mode off (all players) or it won't start the game. It's one of those annoying things about a 20+ years old game. Not sure about the WiFi issue. Don't think you ever mentioned it. I always only had 1 NIC card in my machine so never was using WiFi. By default Windows prefers the WiFi network over a wired connection so it may be as simple as setting the wired connection to get priority (that's the metric field in the NIC card settings). KGB |
